The focus of this blog is to monitor reform efforts in field of Forensic Odontology in response to Daubert challenges put forth in the 2009 NAS Report. The report puts into question claims made in capital murder cases, which infer that bite marks made in skin, can be used to identify an individual as the biter, to the exclusion of all others.

The claim will never be validated scientifically, ever.  Therefore, I speculate that the use of such evidence in the criminal justice system to label a putative suspect be outlawed.
